It’s a “Let’s Get Acquainted” party! Participants will have an opportunity to meet the Friendship Circle staff and mingle with other children with special needs and their families while enjoying an exciting afternoon of music, games, refreshments and other family entertainment. Our teen volunteers will be on hand to give special attention to the children while Mom and Dad meet the Staff and learn more about what the Friendship Circle has in store for the coming year.

Hangin' With Friends |

Friendship Circle’s “Hang’n with Friends” follows the Friendship Circle model of pairing individuals with
special needs with fully-functional volunteers for pastimes of friendship and recreation. Hang’n with Friends offers activities and modes of entertainment that are more age-appropriate
for young adults. Scavenger hunts, community service projects, educational field trips, social outings, shopping sprees, gift and greeting-card campaigns for soldiers standing on the front lines
in the defense of freedom – are some of the highlights of the Hang’n with Friends itinerary. Finally, adults with special needs are receiving the love, joy and friendship they, too, so desperately
need and deserve.

Miracle Sports League |

Under the direction of Coach Denny Lubin, children with special needs, ages 6-14, will be able to enjoy a full range of mainstream sports activities such as basketball, hockey, baseball and soccer – albeit in accordance with their specific capabilities and conceptualizations. Taking place at the beautiful gymnasium at the Oak Park Community Center, the Miracle Sports League will consist of three semesters. Minimum enrollment in the program is a full semester.
